My oil paintings are where I get to experiment with my love of colour. Our interactions with colour can have a profound impact on the way we feel, how we perceive things and the moments we remember. In my work, I use a wide variety of colour harmonies ranging from natural palettes to more energetic colour combinations, each designed to inspire your emotions. Combining this with my preference for a more contrasted use of light, I try to evoke a sense of drama and atmosphere within my pieces, crafting the illusion that the subjects are emerging from their surroundings. 

Many of my drawings and sketches are created using charcoal. As well as being fascinated by floral subjects, I also love to draw the human figure. I am particularly drawn to poses that have a feeling of movement and action. Using charcoal, I try to express the sense of rhythm I see in the gesture of each pose and capture that feeling of being wholly in and focused on a moment before the world rushes back in. As with figures, I aim to create the same fluidity of form and rhythmic structure that I see in my floral subjects.
